The most powerful part of your makeup enhancement is how you play with your eyes. Your eyes are light, bright, happy (or may be tired and dull from a restless night’s sleep) but you can enhance the attractiveness of your eyes through makeup. Today I went on a binge to find the best way to make a subtle cat eye – I think it is absolutely gorgeous and eye-catching,but I wanted to make sure I could do it well. I’ve been in too many school plays and high school dances where the cat eye was used as an excuse to draw a half- inch thick, curved line through the crease of your eye. Eek! There must be a better way to do this. What do you think?
This innovative eyeliner offers the precision of liquid liner and the ease of a gel-based formula. Long-wearing, water-resistant color can be used to create subtle to dramatic looks.
1. Start with clean eye surface, remove any makeup you may have applied before.
2. Apply a nude layer of eyeshadow to even out your lid’s complexion, that is only slightly lighter than your natural complexion
3. Apply a highlight eyeshadow from the inside top of your brow out towards your browbone. Should be slightly lighter than your nude eyeshadow, with a little sparkle but not too much.
4. Apply a semi-matte deeper brown eyeshadow to the outside of the eye crease (gives your eyes a little dimension: make sure that it’s light instead of a visible line!)
5. Gently brush out the crease so the colors blend.
6. Now for the final touch: The liquid eyeliner! I’ve used liquid eyeliner and now I’m never going back to pencil. Using the liquid eyeliner, make a thin line along your top lid that follows the line of your eyelashes, reaching slightly beyond the tip of your eye. Start subtle, and don’t overload your brush – you can always make the line thicker, but thin is more subtle and sophisticated. Give your brush a little flick at the end, and connect the flick to the rest of the line, for a dramatic look.
7. Final step: apply liner to your bottom lid. You will need to apply it to the inner tearduct area, literally above where your lashes come from. It keeps you from having raccoon eyes!
8. The final touch: add 2 coats of black mascara so you don’t lose your eyelashes against this dramatic look!
